Photography portfolio board.
“I explored the theme of identity through the idea
of quirky, commercial school/family photographs and have
experimented with different techniques like layers, collage and
framing,” Grace says.
She explains school photos and family portraits are what people
identify individuals with.
“This ‘forced’ setting
is the image that ‘defines’
us; from others.”
She also explored
the fading and hiding

the performance working alongside Queen Margaret College
and other Wellington Schools for its inaugural Primarily

appreciative and supportive.
Sophia is glad she took part and says she enjoyed
the experience.

Grace felt it was a great privilege to gain second place in the
Canon Eyecon Photography Competition and says it gave her
confidence and reassurance about continuing to study Art.
In 2014 Grace achieved NCEA Excellence for her Photography
portfolio, was awarded a New Zealand Scholarship and her board
was also selected for the Top Art Exhibition that will tour the
country. Grace is one of 19 students selected nationally to exhibit
her Photography portfolio.
In 2015 she will be studying Visual Arts at Elam School of Fine
