gallery of the Hall which I hope many of you enjoyed during Prize
Giving. It also included the creation of the Art Gallery upstairs in
the Old Hall, comprised of works by diverse New Zealand artists
such as Colin McCahon, Gordon Walters and Robin White. This is

and Aloysius Teh.
As we move through 2015 I ask what you might be able to do
for Queen Margaret College? Are you a keen volunteer wanting
to assist with events? Do you have a business where you would be
happy to promote QMC? Are you in a unique career which students
would be enthralled to hear about? It is because of the kind support
from the QMC community that the College is continually able to
develop. If you would like to support the College in 2015 email:
Contributions come in all shapes and sizes and we recently
recognised some long serving supporters of the College by inviting
them to become Members of the College. I am happy to share with
you that Georgia Dry, Lilias Bell, Max Brown, Annabelle Tye, Kara
Eglinton-Ryall and Karen Radford have all accepted their invitations.
Each have given time and shown generosity towards the College
with relationships expanding over ten plus years. We are thrilled that
they are happy to continue this support.
I am delighted that you have chosen to return or decided to start
your journey here with us in 2015. Each parent of QMC is already a
giver and supporter of the College through enrolling your daughter
with us. As a Board we will endeavour to give your daughters an
exceptional educational experience.

any would have already seen the results of a Queen
Margaret College education when your daughter’s
NCEA and IBDiploma results were published in January.
I congratulate Carol Craymer and her staff on these outstanding
2014 results. They demonstrate the calibre of teaching, facilities
and resources on offer at the College. It is through your tuition fee
payments throughout the year that we are able to fund the high
level of teachers and quality resources available to your daughter,
which ensures she gains an exceptional educational experience at
the College.
The Board continues to focus on improving our facilities.
Whether they be “nice to have” or “shape changing”, these projects
are partly supported by the Board and partly through the generosity
of our community. Last year this included the Parents’ Association
Beer and Pie Night which raised funds to upgrade the seating in the
Welcome to 2015 as part of the Queen Margaret College com-
munity. For those joining us this year, we are very pleased with
the decision you have made. It is also pleasing to be able to say
that you are in good company, as the College starts 2015 with
an additional class in Year 7, 8 and 9 to cater for the increased
enrolment numbers in the Middle School. The Board and I are
encouraged by the up-take of those seeking a Queen Margaret
College education across all levels.
In 2013 the College opened its second onsite gym thanks to the support of the Community.
