They looked at the impact of tourism in Antarctica
and marine habitats, sustainable tourism and eco-
tourism, and preservation of unique environments
and the role of marine reserves, and personal versus
collective responsibility.
The girls interviewed several scientists, who had
divided opinions on the effects of tourism on the
natural environment.
“We found that tourism is affecting the natural
environment in Antarctica. If it continues, sea levels
will rise by 21 feet,” Daisy says.
“People need to be more aware of the effect of
pollution on the environment.”
Head of Junior School Kathleen McDonnell thanks
teachers, mentors and parents for their support
throughout the exhibition and congratulates Year 6
students for all the impressive work they have done.
“They should be very proud of what they have
achieved,” Kathleen says.
