Alzheimers NZ launch lived experience research and the Dementia Declaration This is our story: A qualitative research report on living with dementia , is the result of 40 in-depth interviews with people living with dementia. It shines a much- needed light on what they need to live well, both from friends, family and whānau, and from the health sector, which often lets them down. In light of this, Alzheimers NZ has also launched the Dementia Declaration, the result of people affected by dementia getting together and identifying what they need to live well. You can pledge your support to the Dementia Declaration via ActionStation. It is hoped that both will prompt a long-overdue scaling up and improvement in services and support for people living with dementia. Take a look at the report and the Dementia Declaration at alzheimers.org.nz.
