Neurological news: Upcoming events Our calendar of fascinating in-person and online events for early next year was still evolving as we went to print. Please check neurological.org.nz/events or phone 0508 272467 for the latest listings. If you’re not yet on our email list, contact info@neurological.org.nz and we’ll be sure to keep you informed. Bowling for Brains March 2026 Retirement villages around New Zealand will be buzzing with activity in March 2026 as they take part in Bowling for Brains – our fun and exciting campaign to raise money for neurological research. Playing bowls is great for brain health too, helping you keep fit and stay social! If you’d like to get involved by hosting a morning tea and playing bowls, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to Keeley Jenkins ( keeley.jenkins@neurological.org.nz ) for information. You don’t want to miss this! Rich’s Ride for Research Our CEO, Rich Easton, is getting ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime – a motorbike ride around Australia. Rich’s father passed away 18 months ago and generously left him some money, which will fund the trip. Rich felt this journey would be a perfect opportunity to honour his dad by fundraising for a cause close to both their hearts. He’s aiming to raise enough money to support two summer studentships, giving young neuro researchers an educational opportunity they might not otherwise get. Rich is off on his adventure next March and you’ll be able to follow his travels via regular updates. For now, head to https://bit.ly/RichRideforResearch to read more. Round the Bays 2026 Join the movement that now spans three cities – Wellington (15 February), Christchurch (22 February) and Auckland (8 March). This is dubbed New Zealand’s funnest fun run series. If you’re keen to get involved and support the Neurological Foundation, head to www.roundthebays.co.nz to find out more and sign up. Headlines 3
