32 Impact via collaboration: Snapshot of a busy year We continued our ongoing successful partnerships: • Fieldays collaboration with other like-minded organisations at BrainSpace, in Mobile Health’s Health &Wellbeing Hub • NZ Brain Bee challenge: a collaboration with the Centre for Brain Research and the Brain Health Research Centre, inspiring students to consider neuroscience as a career • Sponsored Parkinson’s NZ lecture with Professor Bas Bloem in Christchurch and the research day of the Parkinson’s conference in August • SupportedMigraine Foundation with technical assistance, and cooperated with them on two major events •Worked with Medical Co-Funders working group to support approaches to funding and information sharing • Had a stand at Auckland University of Technology’s symposium on traumatic brain injury (TBI) Our Head of Philanthropy & Engagement, Kerry McLeod, presented at the Fundraising and Philanthropy Conference in Australia, deepening connections with like-minded organisations across Australasia Our CEO, Rich Easton: • Met with Brain Research UK to share knowledge, plus maintained an ongoing relationship with the Brain Foundation in Australia, sharing ideas and insights •Worked with Neurological Alliance and the English Neurological Alliance on scoping a survey of those living with / impacted by neurological conditions in NZ • Developed a membership model with Neurological Alliance to support funding of advocacy work • Met with Neurological Foundation Human Brain Bank / University of Auckland &NZ Rugby Foundation regarding an ongoing research collaboration Our Head of Research, Dr Sarah Schonberger: •Was on the panels at the University of Auckland Campus Neuro Society Careers in the Brain seminar, Postdoc Society Non-academic Careers workshop, and Liggins Institute Research Retreat • Spoke at Auckland University of Technology’s grant Q&A session • Delivered brain health education at two workplaces • In collaboration with the research community, developed and launched Programme and Platform grants, and presented information sessions for researchers and other funders The Neurological Foundation’s enduring collaboration with our generous community (individual supporters and donors, regular givers, and those who include a gift in theirWill) is at the heart of everything we do.
