30 Investing in future stars A retreat at Leigh, supported by the Neurological Foundation, brought together 30 early-career researchers from across New Zealand. The purpose: to lay the foundation for future neurological research that’s inter-disciplinary, collaborative and impactful. Everyone presented their own research and learned how to work effectively across different fields. The workshop was a huge success, with excellent speakers, engaging sessions and very practical advice. “The Foundation has been particularly supportive ofmany early-career researchers, providing funding opportunities for several of our future stars. Indeed, this retreat, while a small event, will have an everlasting impact on future neurological research acrossAotearoa.” Dr Brigid Ryan, University of Auckland’s Centre for Brain Research Helping early-career researchers connect, exchange ideas and continue learning is a vital part of growing the next generation.
