8 | InTouch SPRING 2025 MOVE YOUR MUSCLES, SUPPORT OUR MISSION Miles for Muscles is back for 2025 - our biggest fundraising campaign of the year! This is your chance to get moving, have fun, and raise vital funds to support people living with neuromuscular conditions. FEATURE Aside from the usual modes of transport, what about swimming some laps in a pool or around a virtual racetrack. Muscling up again in 2025 Miles for Muscles is a fundraising and awareness campaign that relies on you, our valued In Touch readers, going the extra mile in any shape or form, fundraising amongst family and friends. Simply head over to www.milesformuscles.org.nz to create your own fundraising page. Then spread the word via email and social media, asking people to either sign up to fundraise themselves, or donate to your fundraising page. There are many ways you can do your miles (or distance). Aside from the usual modes of transport, what about swimming some laps in a pool or around a virtual racetrack. Getting a group together for a walk around your town. Spend the months of September and October gathering donations – and once you’ve raised $100 you’ll go into the draw to win an awesome tech prize ! Complete your miles during the week of 20th – 26th October. Take part in Miles for Muscles and you’ll be helping our members benefit from essential services that the Muscular Dystrophy Association provides, to address their unique needs. Whether it's a member who is newly diagnosed or someone affected by the progressive nature of their neuromuscular condition, everyone needs support at different stages. That's why the condition-specific support and coffee groups offered by MDA are so beneficial. They have become a vital support system for these individuals and their whanau.
