rea , , roll! , , THE ‘DMD BROTHERS’ ARE READY TO ROLL FOR OUR ANNUAL APPEAL Come roll with us at this year’s national annual appeal! Anyone and everyone can take part in the wheelie fun and interactive challenge. www.roll1kforMDA.org.nz 18 Sept –1 Oct we’d love you to join us! Roll 1k for MDA is a fundraising and awareness campaign that relies on you, our valued In Touch readers, rolling 1km on any kind of wheels and fundraising amongst family and friends. Simply head over to www.roll1kforMDA.org.nz to register and create your own fundraising page. Then spread the word via email and social media, asking people to either sign up to fundraise themselves, or donate to your fundraising page. You could roll 1km on a wheelchair, electric scooter, skateboard, roller skates, push bike ….. or whatever creative wheel idea you can come up with. It’s not too late. You can complete your roll any time between the 18th September – 1st October. Take part in Roll 1k for MDA and you’ll be helping our members benefit from essential services that help to maintain their members mental health and overall quality of life. Whether it’s a member who is newly diagnosed or is affected by the progressive nature of their neuromuscular condition, these situations sometime raise feelings or issues that can be helpful to talk about. That’s why condition-specific support and/or coffee groups are so beneficial, as is access to our free counselling services. South Island Region members Noah and Tommy Fearnley are the faces of the 2023 campaign, and their parents mum Monique and dad Jason Barnes are sharing their story to help raise awareness and funds.
