I had put my name down not long before Christmas and hadn’t expected to be contacted for a while as I knew the boat was very popular. So, I was really surprised and delighted when Tony called me less than two weeks later to say that they had a spot going spare in a few days’ time if I was interested. Denise has a ‘wish for fish ’ out on the Hauraki Gulf My partner Steve and I caught the bus into town early, bought our lunch and then wandered over to where the boat was moored at the Viaduct. There were about 8 of us plus caregivers, most in wheelchairs and a mix of different abilities. Everyone was issued with a life jacket and then taken to the wharf to get on board.
