8 | InTouch AUTUMN 2024 Dylan does good! Northern Member Dylan, 23 years, shaves off his man bun for charity! I started growing my hair during Lockdown in 2021. Since all the barbers were closed, I had this brilliant idea pop in my head. I have heard about hair loss through sickness. I felt sad and always wanted to contribute in some way. I did have so many compliments of how handsome I looked with long hair. Anyway, the time came when my sister and her family were visiting us, I thought, ‘let’s call it a day’. I went and discussed a haircut with my hairdresser who had always helped me maintain and keep it tidy. She was very happy and felt privileged to cut my hair as per instructions. My hairdresser who is recovering from an illness, was very obliged to be part of the this journey and was happy be the person who did the final haircut for me. It is lovely to have known my hairdresser for many years and a very big thanks to them as I didn’t get charged for that haircut as it was going to Charity. I am very proud of myself for having contributed to the community, it was the least I could do. If there is another opportunity to do something else for people in need, I will do it again.
