2 | InTouch WINTER 2025 NEWS ROUNDUP Cardrona Alpine Resort 1st – 3rd August 2025 The Snow Sports NZ Adaptive Festival started over 10 years ago to create a fun, social and developmental atmosphere for adaptive skiers, snowboarders and snow lovers to get outside and enjoy the mountains together! The 3 day long festival is aimed at anyone wanting to get involved in snow sports, from first time skiers and snowboarders through to expert riders. We just want to provide the platform for you to get on snow with friends and family, and love snow sports as much as we do! Over the duration of the festival, there are multiple events to get involved with, prizes to be won and a great support network of dedicated volunteers to help ensure you get the most of your time on snow! For anyone wanting to pursue a competitive pathway the festival is a great place to start! My name is Bruce Knegt, I am 62 and live in Orewa and have Charcot Marie Tooth diagnosed when in my late teens. I am a reasonably active and adaptive in my leisure activities and participate in Adaptive Mountain Biking, Adaptive Skiing, occasional fishing, and “walks” along the beach on my Segway. I have had contact with the Muscular Dystrophy Organization since the early 1980’s and have always appreciated the guidance and assistance where needed and this helped with decision to put my name forward for the MDN committee to return the favour and assist where I can. I can be contacted on 021 33 8883 as needed. Thank you. Welcome to the Northern Committee, Bruce! Adaptive Skiing Prefer to go digital?
