WELCOME Catch up with Clare Clare Williams General Manager Above: Peter Rawlings Peter joined us as a Member Support and Programmes Coordinator in April and has taken responsibility for our coffee groups. He brings a calm, organised and can-do approach to his work with members and has been a wonderful addition to the Cerebral Palsy Society team. I’m delighted he joined us. Our Annual General Meeting is happening on October 19. There’s an article with all the important dates and information that you need on pg 16 . I want to take a moment to encourage you to get involved. If you or someone you know, have skills in HR, finance, or fundraising please consider standing for a position on the Board. When online voting opens, please be sure to cast your votes. It’s an important way you can contribute as a member of the Society. Please RSVP for the AGM itself. We’d love to have as many members as possible joining us. I’d like to pass on my appreciation to electionz.com – the company that is once again managing the AGM for the Society. The team is a pleasure to work with, and they do a great job of making the voting process smooth and easy for our members. Have you thought about how you can support the Cerebral Palsy Society? As a charity we rely heavily on the support of trusts and foundations, as well as generous donations, fundraising and people leaving us a gift in their will. As members, your support can take many forms – you don’t have to make a donation yourself. You could ask for donations to the Cerebral Palsy Society in lieu of birthday presents, you could organise a fundraising event at your work or your child’s kindy or school, if you’re going to take part in something like a marathon or Round The Bays seek donations from your friends and whānau, or you could leave the Society a gift in your will which means you don’t have to find cash now. For more information about how you can support the Society go to www.cerebralpalsy.org.nz/ support-us , send an email to cpsociety@cpsociety.org.nz or phone 0800 503 603. We’d love to hear from you. Ngā mihi, Kia ora koutou katoa, Welcome to the latest edition of The Review . We’ve conducted a few surveys this year, and I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to those that have taken the time to respond. Expression of interest surveys have helped us determine the viability of initiatives we have in mind and coffee group attendees responded to our annual survey asking for their feedback. We’ve conducted surveys around the impact the government’s funding cuts have had on you and your whānau a year after they came into effect, we’ve asked for your experiences when it comes to accessible housing, and about your involvement in intensive therapy. I know filling in surveys takes time, but the information we get back from them is useful in terms of our planning, assessing what we offer our members, and directing our advocacy work. We really appreciate you taking the time to respond. Since the last edition of The Review , we have welcomed Peter Rawlings to the team. SEPT 2025 THE REVIEW | 3
