WELCOME How long have you been with the CP Society and what is your job? My name is Sara and I am one of the Member Support and Programme Coordinators for the Cerebral Palsy Society. I have been with the Society nearly three years. What do you love about your job? I enjoy everything about my job, but especially love to chat to members on the phone. What’s a successful day at work? I enjoy connecting with members through the many phone calls and emails I receive and catching up with members while hosting the monthly Auckland in-person and online coffee groups. If resources and funds weren’t an issue, what would you like to see our members enjoying? I would like to see every member having the funds available to be supported in their every day lives so they can live as independently as possible. For instance, suitable housing, transport, health care, employment etc. What do you do to relax outside of work? In my spare time I love to baby sit my grandson and catch up with family and friends. I also love DIY, woodworking, gardening, sewing and upcycling. I also love a day out on the boat fishing with my twin sister. Meet our team Sara Sheehan Each edition we introduce you to a CPS teammember. At the Cerebral Palsy Society’s AGM we said farewell and thank you to one Board Member, and welcomed a newmember. The Cerebral Palsy Society’s 2002 AGM was held virtually and in-person on October 30. Once again, the Society employed the services of an external company, electionz.com to coordinate the voting process for the board member positions, the remit and the resolutions. Their online voting system is user friendly, and thanks to electionz.com’ s generosity, it was also very cost- effective for the Society. 2022 AGM update We’d like to introduce you to our newest Board Member Murray Waring. Hello one and all, I’m Murray and I am from the rural community of Pukekohe in the southern region of Auckland. Thank you to those of you who voted for me. I will work with the other Board Members to make a difference not only for those of us who have CP, along with other medical conditions like myself, but also to those of you who support us regardless of the role you play. Approaching my 50th year in March, I know how hard it is to fight for what is right, along with being humbled for all the good things that come our way. Regardless of if you voted for me or not, I’ll be at your side as I am approachable and easy going with a sense of humour when the time is right to use it. Although I’m a Kiwi, I’ve had the privilege of living in the At the AGM we farewelled Pippa Huddleston who ended her tenure as a Board Member after two years of service. “Thank you, Pippa. We’re sad to see you go, but we appreciate, and are very grateful for, your commitment and service to the Society,” says General Manager Clare Williams.
