IN BRIEF SOCIETY SNIPPETS CP SOCIETY AGM Save the date. The Cerebral Palsy Society’s Annual General Meeting is coming up on Sunday October 29, 2023 at 2pm. The AGM will be held virtually, and current financial members of the Society will be emailed or posted all the information they need to participate closer to the time. JOIN US The Cerebral Palsy Society hosts a number of opportunities for members to get together. Our Coffee Groups and Mates @ Maccas events are a good way to connect with other members, socialise and meet new people. Please join us. A companion, support worker and/or family member is welcome to accompany members. Up to $15 worth of refreshments per person is provided compliments of the Cerebral Palsy Society. Anyone who requires help or assistance must be accompanied by a carer or support worker. Attendees need to be a financial member of the CPS. FOR THE DIARY Two expos are being held in Auckland in the coming months. The Transition Expo , hosted by Disability Connect, is for students with a disability and those involved in the disability sector. There will be social enterprise resources, an employment fair and opportunities and advice from transition, vocational, employment, education, recreation and information providers. It is happening from 9am-2pm on September 6, at the Auckland Netball Centre, 7 Allison Ferguson Drive, St Johns. Information: www.disabilityconnect.org.nz The ATSNZ Disability Expo aims to showcase a broad range of assistive technology (AT) and lifestyle services to support choice and control for those with a disability, seniors and care givers. It is being held on November 1 and 2 at Due Drop Events Centre, Manukau City. Doors are open from 8.30am - 4pm.
