We aim to increase the knowledge and understanding of New Zealanders about the condition itself, and where to go for support. During the 2025-2026 year, Cerebral Palsy Society staff presented 20 times at universities, workplaces and professional conferences in Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. Within Aotearoa, these opportunities are a great chance to increase knowledge and raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy amongst clinicians, educators and professionals. International opportunities, such as attending the European Academy of Childhood- onset Disability (EACD) 2026 Conference, allow us to keep up to date with global research and findings, and network with our counterparts around the world. CP and Me The Cerebral Palsy Society was delighted to contribute to the research and planning of two episodes produced by Attitude Pictures called CP and Me . CP and Me aired on TVNZ 1 October 5 (the day before World Cerebral Palsy Day) and October 26. Education and Awareness Above: CP and Me was an opportunity to discuss what it means to live life with Cerebral Palsy. The raw, emotional and funny series discussed a variety of topics about living life with CP through the voices of nine people including Cerebral Palsy Society members Gary Endacott, Kris Edwards, Renata Kotua, Helena Chan, Amy Hogan, George Hewitt and Brent Eyskens. The stories told by Attitude Pictures and the people profiled help reframe misconceptions and reshape viewers’ perceptions on disability.
