The difference we made in 2024-2025 Members of the Cerebral Palsy Society continue to receive financial support via the four getProgrammes - getUpAgain, getPhysical, getThis&That and getOutThere. The funding is accessed via a member’s e-card and helps ensure things like taxi rides, therapy options and small disability-related items are accessible to them. This funding makes a tangible difference to the lives of our members, and their whānau. The Society’s grants programme continues to be an important offering for our members. The Individual and Academic grants provide members with everything from fees for sporting events and classes, wheelchairs, computers, phones, transport, therapy and university fees. Organisational grants offer support to organisations that assist people who live with Cerebral Palsy - Hōkai Nukurangi. Our getDriving programme has been running for almost three years and remains a vital tool in changing the lives of Society members who seek independence and freedom through driving. In July 2024 we launched getMoving . The physical activity programme is for Auckland members aged 6 to 21 and sees participants attending weekly sessions with the team from Functional Adaptive Movement™Ltd (FAM™). Coffee groups remain a popular event for members across the country. The number of people attending continues to grow and members, their whānau and caregivers enjoy some valuable time socialising, sharing experiences and getting out into their community. In the 2024-2025 year we hosted another event for Christchurch members who live in a residential facility. Members attended a wonderful day out, gathering for lunch and then exploring the Christchurch Art Gallery. Once again, the event was funded by the generosity of the E L and J B Sanderson Cerebral Palsy Trust, proudly managed by Perpetual Guardian. The past year gave us Cerebral Palsy Society staff more opportunities to present at universities, workplaces and professional conferences in Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. This year we presented 30 times. These opportunities are a great chance to increase knowledge and raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy – Hōkai Nukurangi, and the mahi of the Society across Aotearoa New Zealand. It also allows us to keep up to date with international research and findings, and network with our counterparts outside of Aotearoa New Zealand. Programme funding redeemed by our members 2024-2025 getPhysical $114,930.98 getThis&That $128,478.43 getUpAgain $1,400.00 getStructured $8,820.50 getDriving $16,050.00 getOutThere $86,892.72 “We are so grateful for all the CP Society does, the resources and education you provide, and the financial support.” 8 | ANNUAL IMPACT REPORT 2024-2025
