The difference we made in 2023-2024 The Cerebral Palsy Society continues to support members through the various getProgrammes. Our e-card funding makes a real difference to the lives of our members, enabling them to access financial support via getUpAgain, getPhysical, getThis&That, getOutThere. Individual, Academic and Organisational grants remain a vital part of the opportunities we provide to our members and their whānau. Members have received everything from fees for university, sporting events and classes, wheelchairs, computers, phones, transport and therapy. getDriving continued to change the lives of people living with Cerebral Palsy - Hōkai Nukurangi and their whānau. Independence was achieved, and with that came a whole newway of living for a number of members. Our events continued, with fabulous numbers of people attending Coffee Groups, giving members, their whānau and careers, the opportunity to mix and mingle, and share stories and experiences. We also hosted a day out at the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve in Christchurch for Cerebral Palsy Society members who live in a residential facility. The event was free thanks to the generous support of the E L and J B Sanderson Cerebral Palsy Trust proudly managed by Perpetual Guardian. The 2023-2024 year has produced more opportunities to present at schools, universities, workplaces and professional conferences. This year we presented 16 times. These opportunities are a great chance to for us to increase knowledge and raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy - Hōkai Nukurangi, and the mahi of the Society across Aotearoa New Zealand.
