The difference we made in 2022-2023 Throughout the past 12 months the Cerebral Palsy Society has continued to support members via the various getProgrammes. Vital e-card funding has enabled members to access financial support through getUpAgain, getPhysical, getThis&That, getOutThere. Our grants have continued to have a massive impact on the lives of our members, their family and whānau with funding going to everything from adaptive trikes, to computer equipment and wheelchairs. Our groundbreaking project for the 2022-2023 year, was to establish getDriving . The life-changing programme helps New Zealanders living with Cerebral Palsy gain their restricted drivers licence. We saw a great increase in the number of events we hosted, as well as the number of members attending. Our events, which included Mates @ Maccas and Coffee Groups for adults and families, gave members a chance to socialise, get involved in their community, and build networks of support. The 2022-2023 year also produced an increase in staff presenting at schools, universities, workplaces and professional conferences. We presented on 21 occasions, compared to 15 the year before. Workshops, conferences and lectures like these are an excellent opportunity. for us to increase knowledge and raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy, and the work of the Society. All of this work, supports and underpins the strengths- based te reo term for Cerebral Palsy. Hōkai Nukurangi – to achieve what is important to you.
