A break. “We’ve never really had a break since Odin was born,” his mum explains. “It would be fantastic for Nana to have that time with Odin and know that she can manage everything safely.” The difference is significant. Instead, the family can concentrate on what matters most, spending time together. Meet Odin Odin was born on 5 March 2020 and describes himself proudly as the middle child in his family. He loves his brothers, his parents, his grandparents and his wider family across New Zealand, Australia and the Philippines. He is also an impressively confident wheelchair driver, sometimes manoeuvring it with his elbow. Although when asked whether he might become a race-car driver one day, Odin isn’t convinced. His plans for adulthood are actually much simpler. When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, Odin answers, “Be a dad.” It is a small answer that says a lot about a little boy who clearly loves being surrounded by family.
