46 Queen Margaret Calling :: ISSUE 62 :: October 2018 From the Parents’ Association Over the past few months we have worked on a number of events to support the school and increase parent networking in our school community. Committee member Sophie Hamilton and her team assisted Jacqui Brown with the Year 13 Ball in July. Our role at student dances and balls is to provide extra support and assist the Head of School by helping to set up or by providing security on the door. The Year 13 Ball and year level dances are a really important part of how the committee contributes to and assists the school. In August we held a Quiz Night which was a great chance for teams of parents to put their general knowledge to the test while enjoying each other’s company. Thank you to the committee and the sponsors for making this night a success. At the end of the year we will be supporting the QMC Foundation with their annual Pantomime at Circa Theatre and take part in the festivities at Carols at QMC. We are also looking forward to meeting all of our new families at the New Parents’ Evening in November. The Parents’ Association is looking to finish the school year with another second hand uniform sale so keep an eye out in the school newsletter for the confirmed date. Finally, the Centenary is providing an exciting opportunity to engage with our school community in new ways. We are excited to be launching the QMCPA Art Exhibition in April 2019, further details will be announced in Term 4.
