Celebrating 50 years of hope 15 Keep up the great work and research! - Christine Henderson, Canterbury Enjoy reading the progress being made in research - what is being achieved in the different fields. - John Dore, Canterbury This is a great organisation! - Helen Roddick, Canterbury The Neurological Foundation serves a wonderful purpose. I always look forward to the information contained in Headlines. I cannot give much, but every bit helps. The research being done will help so many! Thank you. - Joseline Drew, Nelson/Tasman I really enjoy your Headlines newsletter. All the research is very interesting. My close friend recently passed away after many difficult years of Parkinson's disease. I think all your efforts are inspiring. Grateful for all your enthusiasm and dedication. - Nola Muirhead, Nelson/Tasman I give because my mother died of a neurological condition 30 years ago. Because of continuing research, she would probably not have died if she had the same diagnosis in 2020. I'm just giving a little but hopefully the next generation can have better health outcomes too. - Jennifer Alison, Auckland I enjoy reading about research projects even though I don't understand much of the language! Amazed at the variety and depth of research being done in NZ. Keep up the good work! - Anne Bennett, Manawatu/Wanganui The Foundation is a wonderfully organised and effective organisation and works in such an important field. I am pleased to be a part of it. - Jack Woodward, Auckland Thanks, I love reading about the research breakthroughs. - Bradie Paul, Bay of Plenty Thanks for your great work. My son had a large brain tumour partially removed almost 2 years ago & still lives with part of it on his brainstem - he is 16 and amazing. Your research funding is truly awesome. - Sarah Cassidy, Canterbury I am fascinated by the progress that is being made in understanding the brain. I feel it is very worthy of support. Thank you for your work. - Irene Shaw, Waikato I really admire these researchers & the wonderful work they do. Some of it must be so tedious but their perseverance produces rare incredible results. We need them which is why the Neurological Foundation is my favourite charity. - Juliet Smith, Hawkes Bay You all do wonderful work and the cures that you find will one day benefit my children and their children. - Janice Robinson, Manawatu/ Wanganui I really appreciate the Headlines magazine and pass it on to interested friends. Bipolar disease and dementia, as well as stroke, have featured in my immediate family. It is encouraging to read and learn what is being accomplished in New Zealand by the Foundation to bring hope to many for a better future in the years ahead. - Barbara Philip, Waikato Your articles in the newsletter are very informative and well presented. New Zealand has an excellent neurological input into the world forum, well done. Mr Robinson performed an amazingly delicate operation on my brother around 1965/ 1966 to remove a birthmark from his brain, for which we were forever grateful. - Helen Smith, Otago My husband had Parkinson's for 30 years and when diagnosed there was little known regarding treatment for it, but they were looking to see what could done. There was no literature produced to help and some of what was suggested has changed dramatically. He died over 21 years ago, and it is now good to read about the advantages now available. - Yvonne Sworn, Northland I support research into all neurological conditions and want to help those who suffer from them. - Patricia White, Southland Became interested in the Foundation due to the wonderful handling of my Rachel (wife), who died in 2012 from Alzheimer's and cancer, by Professor Richard Faull and the donation of her brain for research. - Anthony Harrington, Bay of Plenty I think all the work you do is wonderful and improves the quality of life for many people with many charities in need of support. - Barker, Waikato I thoroughly enjoy your news update and would like more talks to go to. Our family has experienced strokes, migraine, brain tumour, brain injury (due to sport) and other undiagnosed episodes - so it is always amazing to hear about the research & discoveries being made. Keep it up! - Margaret Meechang, Nelson/ Tasman I'm encouraged by the ongoing research being done. Family members have some neurological conditions so I follow with interest the advances being made. - Isla Howe, Southland I support the Neurological Foundation because I think you are doing very worthwhile research and are doing a great job. - John Waugh, Canterbury I think you all do a wonderful job. When my mother passed away we donated her brain to science as she had Alzheimer's. Dr Faull got in touch with us to see if we would do this, he was very helpful. - Sharon Peters, Auckland Neurological Foundation is the main recipient of my donation resources. I am proud to witness NZ's continued spearheading of this vital research. I have had family members with MS, Parkinson's disease and stroke. - Tony Haszard, Auckland Excellent magazine! Since my husband suffered a severe haemorrhagic stroke a number of years ago & passed away in 2011 it is encouraging to know how knowledge & treatment have made such huge advances. - Glyn Paterson, Otago
