AUGUST 2022 InTouch | 1 Roll 1k for MDA and help connect our members. This year we have set our sights and fundraising target high; a goal of $50,000 for the Roll 1k for MDA campaign . Last year, we raised $26,000 with staff, members and branches getting out in their communities on wheels to raise vital funds and awareness. This year we are raising funds for our branches to continue running member events so families can connect, receive support and continue to be visible in the community. I really hope to see more of our members out this year on their wheels so we can continue to support you with the valuable member events you enjoy. We know how important connections are to our members and have recently been hosting more condition specific member group meetings. Denise Ganley, our Member Services Manager, has organised meetings for Myotonic Dystrophy and FSHD, with more planned in the future for other conditions. September is a busy month for us with many global awareness days for several of the conditions that MDANZ covers; Duchenne, CMT and LGMD all have awareness days next month. Keep an eye on Facebook for ways to support each of these special days. I hope you enjoy the warmer days spring brings and I look forward to hearing all about your challenges for the Roll 1k for MDA fundraiser . Mauria te pono – believe in yourself. Take care and stay warm.
