Headlines 15 In total, our participants took 850,040 steps on the pathway to hope. We are humbled by their efforts and cannot wait to do it all again next year! “My wife and I have been ‘doing’ Round the Bays for 7 years and we look forward to being involved with 1000’s of other Kiwi’s having some fun. It’s great to see so many people out running and walking whilst also raising funds to support their favourite charities. There is such a sense of community all the way along the waterfront and a great chance to keep fit which is always good for your brain health. We spice it up a little by walking in fancy dress which always brings a smile to the kids’ faces, this year it was penguin costumes. Hope we see you next year to walk (or run) with us on the pathway to hope.” – Rich Easton, Chief Executive Officer, The Neurological Foundation “We had a great time at Round the Bays on Sunday. The weather was perfect for our 8k trek around the waterfront with great entertainment along the way and over 34 thousand participants! Once we crossed the finish line, it was nice to relax and enjoy some refreshments at our Neurological Foundation site at Madills Farm. Thank you to our Fundraisers who stopped by to say hello and for supporting us during the lead up to the event. It was lovely to meet you and share in stories about your Round the Bays experience. Bring on next year!” – Anna Erwood, Administration Support, The Neurological Foundation “I did the race with my mum, my friend Charlie and Charlie’s mum. It was hot, at the end my feet were aching. I was super-duper tired at the end. I felt super good for finishing and I was so glad I didn’t have to do the whole thing back into town. I raised $646. I want to do it again” – Seb Morgan, Fundraiser and Participant Here’s a few quotes from some of our participants If you have a community fundraising project in mind, whether it be a bake sale, fitness challenge, sausage sizzle, mufti day or something else – please visit: neurological.org.nz/get-involved/fundraising-for-us/ or get in touch with Thorne Snow , our Marketing and Engagement Coordinator: thorne.snow@neurological. org.nz .
