DOCUMENT
The changes relate to the supporting constructs, aligning them with modern business practice such as approving email motions, updates to our sub committees and a more general tidy up of the clauses. The changes are also important to ensure the Foundation’s Rules and Objects are ready for any regulatory changes coming through in the sector, such as the review underway of the Charities Act 2005. This is the formal notification to our Members of the proposed changes, giving you at least 1 month before the new document is presented for approval. Members can view and download the current and new versions of the Rules and Objects Document on our website, www.neurological.org.nz/rules-and- objects . If the internet is not your thing, please call us on 0508 272 467 and we can arrange for a copy to be posted to you. There is also a feedback form which you can use to provide specific commentary on any of the changes, this is available for download from the website or will be sent to you along with a copy of the Rules and Objects Document. Foundation Rules & Objects Update and Special General Meeting The Neurological Foundation Council has commissioned a review of our Rules and Objects Document to ensure it remains fit for purpose as the organisation evolves. The “Rules and Objects” themselves have not changed, as these define our reasons for being and how we carry them out. All feedback should be emailed to RSVP@neurological.org.nz or posted to the Foundation at the address, PO Box 11022, Auckland Hospital, Auckland 1148 , and must be received at the Foundation’s offices no later than close of business on Monday 26 August 2019. The proposed changes to the Rules and Objects Document will be presented to paid up Members of the Foundation at a Special General Meeting on 5 September 2019 at the Ellen Melville Centre, Pioneer Women’s Hall, 2 Freyberg Place, Auckland at 2.00 pm until 4.30 pm . All fully paid up Members present will be eligible to vote on the changes to accept them, reject them or accept them with certain modifications. A register of Members attending will be recorded on the day and included in the minutes of the Special General Meeting. Unfortunately there is no facility for taking proxy votes for those unable to attend the meeting. Headlines 3
