ANNUAL IMPACT REPORT 2022 OUR IMPACT The Neurological Foundation is a charity that funds life-changing neurological research through the generous donations of its members and supporters. For more than 50 years the Foundation has invested more than $55 million into basic science, and clinical and translational research. We fund the best research and the best scientists and clinicians to advance our understanding of more than 700 conditions including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, dementia, motor neuron disease, autism, multiple sclerosis, mental illness, migraine, epilepsy, spinal cord and traumatic brain injury, and dozens of other debilitating conditions. OUR PURPOSE The main purpose of our fundraising is to establish scholarships and make grants to students, medical practitioners, scientists, welfare workers and others for the purpose of research and study in and knowledge of methods of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases and disorders of the nervous system. The outcome we strive for is to improve the future quality of life for New Zealanders impacted by neurological conditions. The Foundation also works to educate and raise public awareness for neurological conditions by funding publications and hosting public events throughout New Zealand. OUR VISION An aspirational organisation, proudly enabling progress by investing in leading neurological research and education.
