8 | NEUROLOGICAL FOUNDATION 60% of our total expenses has been invested in neurological research this year. A huge contribution of that total has come directly from your generous support. Thank you! It has been written into our governing Rules and Objects document, and is a mandate of the Foundation, to continue to educate the community on neurological updates and latest research. As such 15% of our expenses in 2019/20 have been put towards education and awareness to help increase understanding and support of neurological research and conditions in our community. Additionally, a percentage is then used to cover administrative costs and to continue our fundraising efforts, ensuring we can raise more funds to support more vital research year after year. Additional income which has been received is put into our investment portfolio to ensure we safeguard our future and to continue to support the best neurological research. The income from these investments also helps offset our operating costs each year. How we spend our funds Without your generous support this past 2019/20 year the Foundation couldn’t have been able to fund ground-breaking research or further the education of future neurologists and neuroscientists. Each year the Foundation receives hundreds of requests to support neurological research. The requests for funding far outweigh what is actually funded each year, however thanks to your passion and dedication, we were able to make a significant impact this year.
